All rebuilt alternators look good on the outside, unfortunately that is where the similarity ends. Look inside, you may find things like diodes that have been repainted and reused or old slip rings that have been refitted without being repaired. You can even notice the wear and tear marks on some of the "rebuilt" parts. These parts may function for awhile, but soon they will fail and another alternator will be needed.
